T'ai Chi
Originally from China, T’ai Chi consists of a series of natural movements which strengthen the body and mind in a gentle, enduring way. T’ai Chi seeks a harmonious way of life - a life which lends itself not just to survival, but to a quality existence.
Numerous claims have been made about T’ai Chi’s health benefits. Among them:
Evidence suggests that when practiced regularly, T'ai Chi increases muscle strength, decreases arthritic pain and improves cardiovascular health, coordination and balance. A recent study sponsored by the National Institute on Aging shows that T'ai Chi can reduce a senior’s risk of falling by 50%. Research has shown T'ai Chi’s connection between mind and body showed evidence of slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

Chinese have believed them for years; that’s why they say a person who practices
the art regularly and correctly

Our classes consist of basic warm up exercises, practice of the Yang Style short form, long form and the sword form. Memorizing the movements are not required to gain the many benefits of T'ai Chi. If you just like to follow along, that' fine. Perfect for the beginner or the experienced.

Beyond a pair of
Kung fu style shoes (cotton
recommended), T’ai Chi does not require any special equipment.
T’ai Chi is practiced in comfortable, loose
clothing. Some students enjoy wearing a Kung fu uniform with our t-shirt.
